CHURCH NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS:
 
Crossroads Community Baptist Church sponsors the Lord's Cafe which offers free lunch to those in need Monday and Friday from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. They also offer grocery giveaways every Wednesday on the following schedule: A-G 12:00PM, H-Q 1:00PM, R-Z 2:00PM. No lunch served on Wednesdays now. Only one grocery giveaway per household. 
Cherokee United Baptist Church will host revival starting Sunday September 25th at 6:00PM, and weeknights at 7:00PM. Everyone is invited.
New Liberty United Baptist Church now has Thursday evening services starting at 7:00PM. They invite everyone to attend.
Old Beech Grove Baptist Church will host the Clearfork Singers on Saturday October 1st at 6:00PM. The church invites everyone to attend.
Revival will start Sunday October 2nd at Mt. View United Baptist Church with Bro. Linville Maxwell preaching. Services will be Sunday at 6:30PM and weeknights at 7:00PM. Everyone is welcome.

A community blood drive will be held Friday September 30th from 2:30-5:30PM at Appalachian Family Care in Pine Knot. For information, contact the Kentucky Blood Center at 1-800-775-2522 or online at www.kybloodcenter.org.
McCreary County Fiscal Court and 109 Solid Waste Board are sponsoring a Fall Bulk Item Cleanup Event Thursday September 29th from 12:00-4:00PM, Friday September 30th 9:00AM-4:00PM and Saturday October 1st from 9:00AM-1:00PM at the transfer station in Stearns. The drop off event is limited to McCreary County residents and is for bulk items and unwanted household items, with items not accepted including hazardous waste, household trash or construction materials. North McCreary Fire and Rescue will host their annual Haunted House starting September 30th. Dates and times will be Friday September 30th, Saturday October 1st, Friday October 14th, Saturday October 15th, Friday October 21st, and Saturday October 22nd. It will then be open each night Monday October 24th through Monday October 31st, excluding Wednesdays and Sundays. Times for the haunt will be 7:00-11:00PM each night. Admission is $7 per person, with proceeds benefiting the fire department. For information call 376-8382 or 606-310-8602. 
McCreary County Hillbilly Mudslingers will host their last mud bog of the year on Saturday October 1st starting at 7:00PM with vehicle registration starting at 3:00PM. The mud bog is on West Highway 92 2.8 miles west of Stearns and will include divisions for trucks and ATVs. General admission is $7 per person with children 10 and under admitted free if accompanied by an adult. For information call Rodney Wilson at 354-2755. 
Revelo Christian Academy will host their 6th annual Car Show and Fall Fest Saturday October 8th starting at 12:00PM at Leslie's Tire parking lot at the corner of Highway 27 and East Appletree Road in Revelo. Registration for cars begins at 12:00PM and ends at 4:00PM with winners announced at 5:00PM. Trophies will be presented along with dash plaques. Food will be sold and there will be activities for the whole family. For information call 376=8299 or look up "Revelo Christian Academy Annual Car Show" on Facebook.
Support the McCreary Central High School Raider Nation Football Boosters by dining at the Whistle Stop at the Big South Fork in the train depot in Stearns Friday October 7th. 10% of all food sales will be donated to the charity selected.
The McCreary County High School Class of 1964 will host a reunion Saturday October 8th at 6:00PM at Milton's Catering Hall in downtown Whitley City. For information call Milton at 376-8597, Teddy at 606-310-2856 or Buddy at 376-5321.
"Helping Hands" is a new group that will make bonnets for the American Cancer Society to give to cancer patients and bibs for nursing home residents. The group will meet the second Tuesday of each month at 9:00AM at the McCreary County Extension Service conference room. Volunteers are needed to help cut fabric, sew, press seams, decorate bonnets and more. For information or to join the group call the extension office at 376-2524. 
The "Ashes to Beauty" Women's Conference will be held Saturday October 22nd from 10:00AM-3:30PM at the McCreary County Park building. The event is free and includes worship, teaching, and engaging in God's Word. For information visit the "Ashes to Beauty" Facebook page.
