Arts and crafts booth
registration forms for the McCreary County Fair
can be picked up now at the public library. The
fee for setup is $10. For information call

The Dixie Drivers Reunion
will be Saturday July 31st at Sandhill 4-H Camp
starting at 11:00AM with a meal served at 2:00PM. The cost of the
meal is $6.00. Driver's dues can also be paid at

McCrearyFest is hosting a
community yard sale on Main Street in downtown
Whitley City Saturday July 31st from
8:00AM-3:00PM. Tables may be reserved for $10
each. For reservations call Kay Roberts at

The Pine Knot Community Watch
will meet Thursday August 5th at 7:00PM at the
Pine Knot Fire House. All concerned citizens are
invited to attend.
There will be a benefit
singing, car cruise in, cake walk, chili supper
and auction to benefit Carlos Maxwell Saturday
August 7th at 4:00PM at the South McCreary Fire
Department in Pine Knot. Singers will include
Greg & Matt Burdine, Oasis, the Walking
Miracles, the Patricks and others. For
information or to donate to the cake walk or

Josh Hill Road in Pine Knot
will be closed from the .6 to .7 mile points
through August 12th for construction
of tie ins to the new Highway 92. Local traffic
will need to use KY 592 to gain access to the
southern portion of Josh Hill Road.
The United Eastern Lenape
Nation Tribe will be hosting a pot luck meal
Saturday July 31st at the Winfield Park shelter
starting at 4:00PM. Everyone is invited to
attend, bring a covered dish, and chairs or
blankets for sitting. There will be music and
food to celebrate the tribe's state recognition.
The Falls 4-H Mountain Craft
Center will host a yard sale Friday August 6th
and Saturday August 7th with proceeds benefiting
the craft center. For information call the
center at 376-3463.
The McCreary County Fair car,
truck, tractor & motorcycle show will be
Saturday August 7th in the parking lots of
Advance Auto and Burger King in Whitley City.
Registration will be from 11:00AM-1:30PM with
trophies awarded at 2:30PM. The fee is $10.00
and there will be hourly prize drawings, live

host a singing and praise service Saturday July
31st at 7:00PM with the group "God's Warriors"
with refreshments served following the service.

The Cherokee United Baptist Church will have homecoming
Sunday August 1st at 10:00AM. Everyone is
welcome.
School News & Announcements:
The Pine Knot Primary School
Family Resource Center will host a reception for
the school's new principal, Stuart Shepherd,
Friday July 30th from 6:00-8:00PM. Refreshments
will be served and door prizes will be awarded
for the first 30 students to attend. All
students, families and the community are invited
to attend.
