CHURCH NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Stearns First Baptist Church Youth and Children Bible Study meetings are being held each Wednesday night at 6:00PM. Everyone is welcome.
Redemption Way Church in Stearns will host a 14th anniversary service Wednesday October 29th at 7:00PM. Everyone welcome.
First Otter Creek Baptist Church will host a singing with the Smith Sisters Friday October 24th at 7:00PM. Everyone is welcome.
The House of Prayer in Stearns will host a benefit singing Saturday October 25th at 5:00PM with several singers. Proceeds will support remodeling of the church. Everyone is welcome.
Revival at Sulphur Springs United Baptist Church in Pine Knot will begin Sunday October 26th with Bro. Marshall Terry and Bro. Don Kidd preaching. Services will be Sunday at 6:00PM and weeknights at 7:00PM. Everyone welcome.
Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church will host their annual "Fall Festival of Treats" Friday October 31st from 6:00-8:00PM at the church. Everyone is invited to stop by, receive treats and enjoy their Christian Life Center. COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS & EVENTS:

The official Halloween "Trick-or-Treating" hours for McCreary County will be Friday October 31st from 5:00-8:00PM.
A Cemetery Walk will be held at Barren Fork Cemetery Monday October 27th at 5:00PM sponsored by The McCreary County Public Library, McCreary County Historical and Genealogical Society and the US Forest Service. The walk will include stops at the graves of many individuals whose lives played a part in the history of the county. This is a free event with everyone welcome. The Big South Fork Saddle Club will host a trail ride Saturday October 25th from Slaven Trailhead in Oneida to Bear Creek. The ride will begin at 10:00AM and riders should bring a lunch. All riders are welcome. For information call Vicky Taylor at 423-223-7721.
McCreary County Hunter Education and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife will sponsor a free hunter education course at the Sawbucks Bingo building Friday October 31st at 6:00PM and Saturday November 1st at 9:00AM. For information call 376-3933 or visit fw.ky.gov online to pre-register.
The McCreary County Senior Citizens Center at the County Park will host a Halloween "Trick or Trunk" event Friday October 31st with trick-or-treating followed by a dance with a DJ in the gym. For information or for groups wishing to volunteer to help call the Senior Citizens Center at 376-8811 or the park office at 376-7275.
A benefit auction will be held for Paisley Grace Goodin who was born premature in September and is undergoing treatment at UK Medical Center in Lexington. The benefit auction will be Saturday November 1st starting at 4:00PM at Eagle Community Center on Highway 90. There will be a benefit singing, auction and dinner to help with Kenneth Charles Murphy's funeral expenses Saturday November 1st at 4:00PM at the Pine Knot Fire Department. Singers will include Oasis, the Chitwoods, Danny Neal and the Gospel Soldiers and others. Dinner will be $6.00 including turkey, dressing and sides. The McCreary County Senior Citizens Center will host representatives from the state health insurance assistance program who will offer information on Medicare for the open enrollment period. A Veterans' Day chili supper will be held Monday November 10th from 4:30-7:00PM at the McCreary County Senior Citizens Center at the County Park. All veterans are their families are welcome to attend this free event. Anyone wishing to volunteer or help with the event can call Darlene Price at 376-5931 or 606-271-8672.
A benefit singing, auction and dinner will be held Friday November 14th at 5:00PM at the McCreary County Senior Citizens Center to help with travel expenses for 1 year old baby Camden who is undergoing medical treatments. Camden is the son of Brooke Privett and Coty King. Singers will include Oasis, Zack Roark and Heather Duncan Tucker with Greg Burdine serving as auctioneer. Dinner will be $5.00 per plate. A non-profit organization, called "Jacque's Hope" has been formed through the American Legion Post 115 Auxiliary to benefit children in McCreary County with a debilitating condition. This program will help with transportation, food, lodging, or other special needs while battling the condition. To make a donation to the group or find out more, call Trish Meadows at 606-310-3197, Marie Hale at 376-8278 or Darlene Hensley at 376-9666. Donations can also be mailed to Jacque's Hope American Legion Auxiliary, PO Box 987, Stearns, Kentucky 42647.
