Cherokee United Baptist Church will host a benefit singing for Darrel Ray Dobbs Friday September 19th at 6:00PM with the Chitwoods, Terry West Family, Jimmy Waters and others. Everyone is welcome.
Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church on Highway 27 in Winfield, Tennessee will be giving away clothes and shoes Saturday September 20th from 9:00AM-2:00PM. For information call 423-569-2626. 
Murphy Ridge Church of God will host a hay ride Saturday September 20th. Meet at the church at 4:00PM. Everyone is welcome.
Old Beech Grove Baptist Church will host a singing Saturday September 20th at 6:00PM with the Gospel Wonders. Everyone is welcome.
Mountain View United Baptist Church will have homecoming Sunday September 21st at 10:00AM with Bro. Junior Davis preaching and the singers including the Jones Sisters, Waters Brothers, and Danny Neal and the Gospel Soldiers.
Pine Knot United Baptist Church will host homecoming services Sunday September 21st at 10:00AM. Everyone is invited.
Old Gum Fork United Baptist Church will host a homecoming Sunday September 21st at 10:00AM. Revival begins at the church with Bro. Jim Bowman Monday September 22nd at 7:00PM nightly. Everyone is welcome.
Sulphur Springs United Baptist Church will host a singing with "Justified" Sunday September 28th at 10:00AM. The group "Clearfork" will sing that evening at 6:00PM. Everyone is welcome.

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS & EVENTS:

The annual Camp Arnold Campout, for youth who have completed the hunter education course, will be September 19th through 21st. Applications and information are available at Carlos Maxwell's Heating and Cooling in Whitley City or by calling 376-3933.
A benefit singing, auction and dinner will be held to help with Shirley Chamber's funeral expenses Saturday September 20th at 2:00PM at the Heritage Hall in downtown Stearns. Singers will include Oasis, the Whitehead Family, Danny Neal and the Gospel Soldiers and others. Dinner will be $6.00 including BBQ pork or chicken-n-dumplins with sides, bread, drink and dessert. The McCreary County Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for their annual awards presentations to be held at their October annual meeting and banquet. Award categories include "Business or Business Person of the Year," "Citizen of the Year," "Student of the Year," and "Educator of the Year." Nominations should be in no later than September 30th and you do not have to be a Chamber member to submit a nomination. Forms and information are available online at www.mccrearychamber.com.
McCrearyFest 2014 Pageant, craft vendor, food vendor and parade applications are available and can be picked up at the McCreary County Judge Executive's Office, McCreary County Public Library, McCreary County Museum and also online at www.mccrearyfest.com. The pageant will be held September 20th, 26th and 27th. For information on the pageant call Candice Greene-Bridgeman at 606-516-1051.
The McCreary County Museum in Stearns will host "Night at the Museum" Saturday September 27th at 7:00PM with a $3.00 admission charge. The event is a living history partnership with the McCreary Performing Arts Council.
The Big South Fork Scenic Railway will host a "Rails for Life" event to benefit the local Relay for Life Saturday September 27th at the train depot in Stearns. The event begins at 3:00PM with live music, concessions, vendors, silent auction, door prizes and a "Jail & Bail" all to raise money for the Relay for Life. A welcome and balloon release will be held at 5:00PM. Tickets for the train ride will be $18 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under with the first 75 tickets sold receiving free admission to the "Night at the Museum" event at the McCreary County Museum. The McCreary County Health Department will host "Learning to Control Diabetes" classes Mondays starting September 22nd from 12:30-3:00PM. To register or for information call 376-2412 ext 1166. The sessions are free but registration is required.
A non-profit organization, called "Jacque's Hope" has been formed through the American Legion Post 115 Auxiliary to benefit children in McCreary County with a debilitating condition. This program will help with transportation, food, lodging, or other special needs while battling the condition. Donations can also be mailed to Jacque's Hope American Legion Auxiliary, PO Box 987, Stearns, Kentucky 42647.
