host a singing with the Botts Family Sunday January 22nd at

|Banquet of Blessings is offering "Love
Grams" for Valentine's Day. Costumed deliveries will be offered
Valentine's Day from 10:00AM-5:00PM with a card and box of
chocolates for $10. Proceeds will benefit the annual Banquet of

Solid Waste encourages customers
to make sure their garbage is out on their scheduled day no
later than 6:30AM to ensure pickup. They will be going by your
physical/911 address, not stickers, to verify you are a paid
customer. Make sure your 911 address is visible from the

Station in Stearns remains open for the $1 per bag disposal and
bulk item disposal Tuesday - Friday 8;00AM-4:00PM and the first
Saturday of the month 8:00AM - 12:00PM. For information call the

|Kentucky State Senator Max Wise will
hold a town hall meeting Friday January 20th at 5:00PM at Papa's
Pizza just south of Stearns. All citizens are invited to attend
to hear more about the work of the General Assembly, as well as
to ask questions of our state senator.
|The McCreary County Extension Service
will host a series of beef related programs with guest speakers
and various topics. The sessions will each be held starting at
6:30PM at the extension office, at the McCreary Center Campus,
in Whitley City. The schedule is:
Monday February 13th: Producing Animal Forages
Monday March 14th: Beef Cattle Working Systems
Monday April 11th: Bale Weights/Nutrient Content/Value of
Monday May 9th: Bale Grazing

|Champions/UNITE is joining with the
Appalachian High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area to offer "Give
Me A Reason". This project offers free home drug testing kits
for parents to test their children so kids can tell peers they
can't use drugs because they get tested. The kits can be picked
up at the McCreary County Sheriff's Department, McCreary County
Health Department, McCreary County Public Library, Adanta in
Whitley City or by calling Sunshine Canada at 606-310-1107 or
Roger Owens at 606-310-0193.
